This kettle is very similar (if not identical) to the one we had. It's really simple; you sit it on the base, flick the switch, and walk away. Ours would actually ding! when it was finished heating up, and that's all there was to it! They're fairly small, so they don't take up a lot of space, but hold a fair amount of water, so you're not filling and refilling every time you want tea.
Don't forget your hairbrush, either--that's the one I always seem to forget about.
