Getting Started
Apr. 25th, 2012 01:56 pmThis will hopefully be the first of many entries that will mainly take place in Japan.
Today I found out that I will be recommended for an ALT position in Japan (I'll hold off on specifics until everything is completely confirmed). I'm excited to start this new chapter of my life and I can't wait to see what interesting things I'll learn about once I'm in Japan and teaching. While I was studying at my university, I always found that teaching someone else what I studied was the best way to learn the material myself.
In other words... this should be the best learning experience!
On another note, it's a little surreal getting all of the happy, congratulatory phone calls. I'll enjoy them now before the time for goodbyes comes around.
I'll update a few more times before Japan with my progress and preparations in case my process is useful to anyone else going abroad to teach for the first time.
See everyone later!
